At some stage in most people's lives the possibility of working in or moving to a new country is something that is considered. With a very strong economy and an ever-increasing number of employment opportunities available a growing number of people are considering the prospect of moving to Ireland.
The social and economic climate of Ireland has changed dramatically over the last few years and as such it is vital for anybody considering a move here that they research the living and working conditions in Ireland before moving.
As a member state of the EU (European Union) our employment laws and regulations are based on the EU treaties in addition to local rules and regulations. For many, entry and access to the jobs market will be determined by ones eligibility for a visa and/or work permit.
At present a work permit is required by an employer to employ any person who is not a national of an EU/EEA State. (The EEA comprises the European Union together with Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein).
